I had to nip to the bank. The sun is shining, parking can be a pig. So why not.

Out on two wheels for the first time this year. Yes a fair weather rider and proud of it.

So one question from todays little ride of a few miles.

Where the feck have all those pot holes come from. Roads I drive all winter and not noticed sod all. Get on two wheels and 8'x3' holes appear in the road at least 8" deep. Christ they are frightening when you suddenly see one right on your line and out of practice.

But one thing I did notice, a little trip of a couple of miles made my left hip ache. disappeared as soon as I dropped the leg off the peg. Please don't say it is time to get a sit up and beg.

Yeah the potholes appeared with the first snow of 2013, they've gotten worse with every snow flurry and the council show no sign of repairing them (no markings etc)... makes it more fun though doesn't it ;)

Actually I did see council staff working on the roads near the big section of pot holes.

Putting down new white lines for the Gatso cameras. So I guess their priority is revenue over safety.

No Tim, not to sit up and beg, but it might be time to do more exercise/stretching when you're not riding.

None of us age getting any younger.

I went for what a bimble last week in the sunshine on lanes I'd not normally go on and the roads were appalling. Crappy weather means lots of 4x4s tear-arsing about and ripping up the now fragile roads thanks to the frosts. Potholes, gravel, manure and tractor debris round every corner, yey! Managed to pop one of my fork seals on a particularly large pothole, was on its way out anyway.

At least you have your tame greasy monkey.

But you will have to bribe him with prospect of getting his grubby mitts on your body to get it prioritised above paying customers bikes?

Edit, I see you have his picture as your avatar. Good resemblance.

He gets decent meals and cake cooked for him every now and again, his grubby mitts come nowhere near me (then it works as a good bribe to get him in the shower ;) )

Edit: And correction, my avatar is an ape, not a monkey.

Went out yesterday myself. If a bit brief. That pain is actually the cold.
Still bitter out there, and as I don't ride winter anymore my hips got cold and sore. Still are today.

Might be sunny, but the chill factor is raw if you aren't used to it, old and creaky like you ;)

There, cured......sit up and beg indeed!#rolls eyes#

I was another adventurous old git yesterday------blow of the cobwebs so to speak. It is amazing what 14c and a bit of sunshine can achieve. Really enjoyed my little ride and happy that everything done on the bike over the winter was operating 100%---now bring on the summer

N.B. Priority +10c and dry

Went for the first bimble since having the bike returned post thieving incident the other day.

The new injector rail i fitted decided to work its way loose and squirt fuel all over my electrics, leg, etc. Didn't notice till i got home and my dad said i stunk of petrol!

All sorted now though :)
