View Full Version : Bent mirrors
Seriously, I just don't get it: almost every single day I arrive by my bike to find my mirrors have been bent. Even when I was parked in places that obstructed NO ONE. Is there some idiot folk out there walking around and randomly bending people's bike mirrors??

maybe it's just the ugly people who are trying to avoid the incessant torment of your mirrors?

Yes. You live in London. It is full to the brim with people and therefore rambo baggins with complete tools as well. You're lucky they're not getting snapped off!

Rambo Baggins
It's seriously irritating! I mean, really.. why would anyone just walk by and think "oh I know, I'm going to bend these mirrors..." Why on earth would you?? It's sooo weird!

Put a light dusting of anthrax on them when you park up.... that will teach them

Here's a plan ... bend them in yourself and see if the fools put them back in the right place for you.

+1 now here is a plan worth thinking about.

Put superglue on them. Then when you come back you'll know who the culprit is. Don't un-stick them before you reach 60mph on the way home, just make them run alongside the bike.

Yeah this happens I found. ITs irritating as there seems to be only a very small tolerance where I like my mirrors.
Have you have many scooters parking right up next to you on the right hand side.
Hook you bike up to an electric fence..
or the mains .....

Sometimes I know it's a scooter but other times there's totally nothing around

This is why I never ride into London. Seeing bikes and scoots squished into the bays like sardines would drive me nuts worrying who was moving/ scratching/ altering things.
At home I park on a pavement and there is totally no reason for it. The bike is in NO ONE'S way :/
Yesterday I was parked at St George's in the bike parking area but not next to anyone and when I came back both my mirrors were fully folded in. The way I was parked, no one else would have even parked next to me when I was gone so I just don't get it...

The more you talk about it, the more it sounds like those mirror pixies. Pain in the **** they are. Not too dissimilar to bogroll goblins who mischievously separate the plys of the bog roll when you're not looking so it's all out of synch, or the underpants gnomes who steal your pants and leave your draw empty. There is evidence!

Or the gremlins that mess up headphone cables in your bag!

Take the morning off, lie in wait for the culprit, then cave their face in while telling them never to touch your bike again.
