... But I'll make it quick.

I know we bantered about me possibly organising something in Wales and, hell, I haven't even met any of you but you all sound like a good laugh so I'm gonna put an actual idea out there.

Gauging interest in having an Org trackday here - http://www.llandow.com/?page_id=52 - in April. The idea is perhaps to have a whole day to ourselves if there's enough numbers (unlikely) or perhaps just an Org Group - GSXR's / Tigers included - as part of their normal Trackdays (more likely).

Stay over & day 2 could be a mystery rideout taking in some spectacular Welsh roads or just simply chill and have a few beers, before people head back out of God's Country.

As for the track, they're more ... lenient (shall we say) on the whole 'noise testing' thing and its a small enough circuit that no one will be tearing away into the distance down the straightaway on their GSXR / Tiger. Other than that the main trackday rules apply i.e. two piece zipped or one piece, roadworthy bikes, license etc.

I'll see what the response in general is before looking into it in further detail but something like this has been done before there so I know its possible down there.

Cheers GM'ers

Ronnie

Sounds interesting and I could be persuaded but its price dependant. I've often looked at going there just for a lark about in the past but the cost never seems to reflect the track. What I mean is the size is smaller than mallory park, but they charge the same or sometimes slightly more than mallory and mallory is a much better layout and track surface.

It's still a good idea. I've been flirting with the guys about doing a GM track day at some point this year.

I too would be interested in theory, but it's date/price/and bike situation dependant.

I know a nice couple who do B&B just a mile or two from the circuit. They also have four holiday cottages in converted barns. And he's a biker.

Nice area - shame I was there in the car.

I could be persuaded. Never fancied the track but it could be a good laugh. Weather worries me but if its lashing we could just retire to the pub. Do you get sunshine in Wales during April?

I might be persuaded too, but I've got less than a year under my belt, and a track day may trying to run before I can walk at this point in time.

But the chase is half the fun!

You wont be the slowest out there. You could take a 125 and there would still probably be someone slower than you.

I'd be going for inters tho

Can you guys please do a track day near Essex. I need to do some panning photography for my photography course and bikes are ideal for this. (Especially at between 40 and 50mph so that should cover you lot quite well.)

Sian and John run the place. John has a really interesting Meridan Triumph with replica bodywork making it look like a very rare model (which I cannot now remember). You can hear things belting around the track from outside its that close and one evening when we cycled back from the pub there were two Caterhams parked outside who headed off to the track the next morning.

What tracks have you got near you? I'd be v-e-r-y slow as I've never done one of these days so would not mind being helpful (once in a blue moon). As long as you bring cake and not just a camera/sparkly bikini.

Not sure as I haven't done any track days myself. I went to Snetterton in 2011 with Raving Mavis to take pics which was fun, apart from being about the only day of the year when it hit 30 degrees. Hoping to do some more this year.

Great response people. Ok, here's the lowdown. There's a trackday scheduled for Friday 12th April which to my mind is good as it leaves the choice of either Saturday or Sunday to get back. Get the trackday out of the way on Friday and then do the rest at leisure on Sat/Sunday.

The cost is £80 but sure I can work some magic on that. Value for money? Let me put it this way. I've done three there now (unfortunately I'm on a first name basis with the Marshals ;)). There's never been 3 full groups at the end of the day. The last trackday was the most amazing. 3 of us (GSXR1000, SV650 & Ducati 796) had a dry track to ourselves for the last hour and we only stopped is because we ran out of fuel. Knackered!

For the amount of riding done on that day, I reckon I got far more than my money's worth. Will it be like that again? Quite possibly, because it tends to attract quite a mixed bag of serious trackday riders and first timers/road riders, some from quite far away who are only down for the day.

As for the track itself, yes its not the biggest and is bumpy in places but its actually quite fun because of it. The first timers will be fine as you just go at your own pace. The straightaway is quite short which means if you get passed, it will take a while before they catch up again so you'll have some breathing space.

If the Org do it as a group with mostly SV's then I can't see any problems with unsociable hooliganism. They won't stand for that anyway, although they're quite relaxed up there. There's a very decent cafe next door with an active go kart track. Petrol station 5 minutes away and that B&B sounds like a great idea for those travelling from afar.

If you don't fancy doing the track day that's also fine. The Paddock is open and very good for spectating, and there are many great local roads nearby (and the beach should you be so inclined). But for me, the trackday should be a good laugh.

I think we would need a maximum of 14 to make an Org group. If this is of interest (considering the date and travel etc) then I'll ring em up and get specifics on the price etc.

Fallout

I'd be the same. Just starting a new job. I could be very busy, so definitely couldn't commit yet.

Also, we're all forgetting the fact that we hate Runako comprehensively. I often dress up a small voodoo doll of his likeness in a pink dress and drag it along behind my bike while Gav tries to run it over. We really have to decide if we're serious about this voodoo thing or if we're just doing it for a laugh.

Re: Trackday, I'm using my intuition here and can sense the teenie tiniest hints that possibly some of you might perhaps be just ever so slightly busy and can't commit:

I'm certainly interested but i can't commit ... I also have a very busy march, april, may, june and august.

Of course I can understand this as, were the proposal for a trackday up your way, it would be a more difficult consideration for me. But I think in reality there'd need to be firm committment to arrange a group booking in advance.

No worries either way, just let me know if there is firm interest as its possible I'll be doing this Trackday anyway.

Otherwise, if there's general interest in coming down to Wales at some point I'm happy to suggest/plan some amazing routes in the Mid-South Wales area for a planned rideout at some point. Then perhaps El Presidente (I love you by the way :makelurve:) can round up the troops and you can all decide on a date etc.

Tbf as much as I'd like to I cant even commit to TD's that I have on my to do list this year.

Im going to the TT which is costing enough and I'm getting hitched in August so everything is taking a hiatus this year including my recent trackday interests and buying guns. Snetterton do a double dayer deal for 169 quid. They're running 3 this year (I think) and I had planned on doing the double at the end of may but can't now. Hope to catch one later in the year.

I know fagout has just started his new job so his cold feet is understandable and everyone else is just being ghey.

I also dont have any paid time off so unless anything is local and at a weekend I extremely doubt I can do anything this year :(
