Exactly.

Immediately after your birth it was decided that you'd spoilt it for everyone.

Although it's a bit miserable you learn a lot more in the wet than you do in the dry. When you're good in the wet you are often VERY good in the dry.

:( good grief..... Thanks a bunch WB I now feel very old.

I will have a house full of 16 year old girls over this weekend, helping my daughter celebrate her birthday. Last time we had a mass sleep over they chatted and giggled all night until I stomped downstairs and threatened to split them all up into the different wings and outbuildings of Trev Towers. This time is likely to be just as bad so I predict Sunday morning will not be a good time for me to get on the bike.

Trev, never come onto a bike forum and utter the above phrase in any sentence. It's a bit like going to a fat camp and saying "an endless bag of jelly babies".

I'd finished school, college and graduated from university by then - AND been at work for two years! Sheesh, my daughter was born in '97...

Where did I put that bottle of vodka...

Slightly worrying that I'd been working 7 years before Tomor's mum and dad got jiggy!

Spank86
15-03-13, 01:55 PM
Yeah, After 7 years we'd have thought you'd have got to Tomor's mum already.

Or perhaps your grooming skills have improved with age.

Anyway cheers for the info.

Might come but it's a bit of a trek especially as the weather doesn't look great.

I will have a house full of 16 year old girls over this weekend, helping my daughter celebrate her birthday.

The dog is hiding in the kitchen. Lady Poppy is in the dining room pretending to do some tidying. I am taking refuge upstairs in the study but it's no good - I can still hear them all down there screeching and giggling away. We've got another five hours of this...

Tom, sorry you had to ride around with my crash bung in your pocket all day but i lost you in the chaos. If you are at the shop tomorrow i could call down and pick it up then mate. Cheers

Tomor
17-03-13, 01:23 PM
No worries. I guess you had gone on a ride as I couldn't find you. I will be, or I can meet you somewhere in the middle on Wednesday depending on your shifts? How was your ride?

Winder
17-03-13, 01:38 PM
This Wednesday is pants for me i'm afraid (but i'm off next Wednesday?) so i will call down to the shop tomorrow sometime and pick it up. As for the ride, he only went and gave me an A! For some reason i'm alright in the wet, must be cause i'm Irish and it's Paddy's day. I think it was a bit of a fluke but i'll have it anyway. Few little points for me to work on for next month too.

Tomor

Cool. No worries will take it in tomorrow. p.s the beauty of a topbox ;)

That was the ****test riding experience of my life. Not only was the ride wet and cold and boring, I developed a nice stomach ache 5 mins in and felt sick all the way. Then since I don't know my way back to the A30 I had to follow signs for the m3. Ended up drowning on the m3, close to puking and in pain with wet feet and gloves. Luckily the waterproofs worked elsewhere!

I have to admit, when i was eating my full english fry up watching the rain throw down outside i wasn't even thinking about riding my bike  I was considering going out if it was only light rain, but that plan soon changed. Instead i fitted a charging socket on the bike, played WOT and chilled out.

It was a little damp. Got through my gloves too. And my left boot, though my right was fine though...

Winder I forgot the bung. I can get it at lunch or you can pick it up from my house (2 mins from work)

Winder

That's fine mate, im in no rush. Will prob be cycling to work tonight so i can just pick it up tomorrow.

I wasn't best pleased that my HG summit gortex gloves were completely soaked through. I may as well of had my thin summer gloves on. My feet were frozen solid but the gortex socks seemed to keep them dry.
At least the summer p*ssing rain will be a bit warmer than this spring p*ssing rain

Tomor
20-03-13, 06:19 PM
Winder, You have your heated grips on?

stuR
20-03-13, 06:45 PM
i rember you saying about the reverse effect with grips, but ive never found that with my alpinestars with the drystar tech..

Winder
20-03-13, 07:10 PM
Yeah I had them on. So the options are dry but frozen or warm and soaking wet (WEY HEY), great.
About my crash bung. I can get it from the shop tomorrow mate. Think I got the wrong crash bungs as the right hand fitting plate (bit the bung screws into) needs a spacer on its upper bolt or it will sit skew wiff and foul on the frame. In my normal fashion I bodged it on there so I'm now finally ready to add the missing piece.

Tomor
20-03-13, 07:15 PM
haha you bodger! yeh no worries, its sitting at work ready for collection anytime. Your bung screw directly into the engine mount, or on a bracket that bolts to two mounts on the engine? I have a feeling they have sent the wrong bung.

Winder
20-03-13, 07:29 PM
The crash bung i need screws onto a bracket which is held in place by two engine mount bolts. Should be the "hollow" one with an M10 bolt with a 17mm head going straight through the centre of the bung

Tomor
20-03-13, 07:35 PM
though it was, pm me your mobile number, and ill let you know whether it is the correct one or not tomorrow morning. Ill check the length of the bolt on my bike tonight.

Winder
20-03-13, 07:38 PM
Cheers mate
