If I take a picture with my Android phone and the GPS is working, it will store the co-ordinates within the picture data.
If I now go to gallery and look at the picture, I have the option to view the picture location on map (Google maps). However, the location is always wrong, its always placed on a road or landmark nearest to where the picture was taken, but no the true location. If I manually type the location stored into google maps its plots the position, spot on.
It never used to do this, so something has changed.
I also find many other people with similar problems from a search, but no solutions.
I've completely reset the phone and its still the same.
I've removed all map updates and its still the same.

How does Your Android phone behave?

I have all that turned off so can't help you as far as that but a couple of questions might help those with more of an idea.

Have you had any updates to your phone between it working or not working?
What version android are you on?
Is it rooted?
If yes have you been flashing different ROM's or radio's?
My Desire HD is notorious for crap GPS signal because not soldered very well it seems, but if your's used to be fine I would rule that out.

I would definitley think it's to do with software / radio kernals (or whatever they are called)

Not sure if its had any system updates, though I reset the phone and deleted everything, then tried again and it was the same.
Android version 2.3.5 not rooted or flashed or messed with.

Its odd as used to work great, now it always puts the picture origin on the road as close to the original location as it can, though the lat/long is correct.

I googled for help, found several people with same problem, but no answers
