I bought a SRAD 750 front end that had just been removed from a curvy. On the yokes stem it had the upper and lower bearing and inner races. So if I remember rightly the top bearing and races are the same, the bottom is different.

My question is, the stock races are pressed into the frame of my curvy, can i run the new bearing on the stock race or are they a different size?

I'm guessing running used bearing on a different used race surface will wear them quickly but I've just spent a load on my bike and don't want to buy more this month if i don't have to.

Cheers :)

Ok sorry its the top bearing that needs replacing. The bearings that came with the front end are both ball race bearings so not the roller one from TWF. Think it will fit?

Stupid idea, i realised as soon as i had the bike on wheels and tried to push it. It felt loose. Bearings ordered!

I'd go and get your head checked out, you're posting and answering threads all on your own :p

But in answer to your question, on a curvy you will need to change the top bearing for the TWF one.

Bottom bearing is the same, but of course a ball bearing one won't work with a roller bearing race & vice versa

Yea im getting the bearing from Zoran and will get a new lower bearing anyway, I might as well the bikes done 45k miles. I just didn't want it to get buried in the archives and someone finds it not having been shot down and flamed. lol. For the record i was talking about ball bearings on ball races :p
