Whoops.
I've been asked to cut corners at work before, but thankfully I don't play with anything nearly that exciting.

Imagine a squadron taking off with that lot, a crash on takeoff would have been one for the old risk register!

Still have memories of the time several "large" UXBs were found between my village and Gt Yarmouth. The ground is reclaimed marsh and so very soft and as it was en route for a lot of air crews heading for the continent it was used frequently as a jetison point if a plane was making an early return due to mechanical issues or enemy hits. The soft ground meant a lot did not go off and although most were found three were recovered in the 70's while I was at primary school. They were disposed of in controlled explosions, one a day and my gosh did the ground shake. The roads were closed for miles around and we were all told to keep windows open. As kids we thought it was great fun, but I'll bet there are still a few out there!

I'll never look at gate guardians in the same way again - much in the same way I am a bit wary of those collecting boxes on the coast made out of anti-ship mines!

There are thousands of tonnes out at sea as well. None of it risky until somebody wants some pretty brass bits on the mantlepiece!

I'm always riding on the MOD land where they did all this, when they're not testing that is. Never snapped a picture of the SV there as theres more rough roads than smooth.
