Hi,

Just a quick question. I've just noticed that the SV650S supposedly has a shorter wheelbase than the unfaired SV650. Is the difference in the swinging arm, or at the front? Just slightly concerned because I've ordered a Red Fox hugger which is supposedly OK for any model SV650/S 2003 onwards. (I did specifically ask the seller if it fitted the faired SV650S).

Thanks, Tony S

Interesting. I wasn't aware of a wheelbase difference?

If the seller said its okay, don't worry about it. If it doesn't fit, the error is on his part and he should either replace with suitable one, or give you a full refund.

However I fully believe there isn't a wheelbase difference. I may be wrong though. Where did you get that info from?

I'm going by the specification in the user manual, SV650 wheelbase 1440mm, SV650S 1430mm. It also quotes SV650S with 2mm less trail.

Learn something new everyday.

Im not very interested lol

As far as i know, the forks, swingarm, frame etc etc is the same. I know the 6th gear ratio is slightly lower to accommodate for extra wind resistance on the naked but i cant see that making a difference.

Iv got a hugger on mine, but unfortunately i dont know the make or model of it as it was there when i bought it.

I hope someone who knows comes along soon :).

Suspension geometry is slightly difference on the S, sits slightly higher giving it a slightly shorter wheel base.
Also I believe that the swingarm on the K3 is different to that of the other K models. Infact, i think most things on the K3 are specific to it and not interchangeable with other models.

I've just read what I last posted on here. I can't remember what I was supposed to write, but I'm sure it wasn't 'I'm not very interested'. Predictive iPhone text maybe?

I am interested though, I apologise for that. Sorryyyy

Not the worst I've seen, for example someone asking a colleague if she was busy, came out as "are you super busty". Well that was his excuse.

Hahaa. Well it was better than calling any of you lot busty haha.

I think predictive just likes to make you look silly from time to time
