View Full Version : Does the 'age question' offend you?

LewSpeight

Over heard an argument with two women arguing that you shouldn't be offended or 'fussy and immature' when somebody asks their age.
Im bored so thought i'd throw it up here for a discussion. Thoughts?

It depends, I think there comes an age when you shouldn't be so blunt as to ask outright but at the same time women shouldn't get uppity if they don't want to answer.

It's just a number......... ;-)

LewSpeight

Exactly what I thought Skybaba ;)

I normally think that if they're kicking up a fuss about telling you their age, then they're ashamed about the person they are considering their age. If that even makes sense.

A woman's age should be treated as if it is written on paper - when it's laid horizontal or the lights are out, no-one can see and no-one cares.

Back to the original question, if someone gets upset because you ask their age, then think how they're going to act if you burn their house down or punch them in the face? I'd wager they'd go absolutely mental. People need to chill.

I've been having a lot of trouble with my memory and cognition lately... you know silly things like putting cereal in the fridge and milk in the cupboard. Went too far earlier though; I suddenly realised I was trying to withdraw cash from the microwave. But I'd forgotten my pin number.

I am 52, old enough to know better. But young enough to misbehave.

It is a comfortable age, safe in the knowledge that I now know it all.

My motto is to never go out for the evening with a younger man, (I'm 42) and never stay out past my bed time (11pm).

The only exception is where the combined ages of the men I am out with adds up to a great number than my own age, and the hours past my bedtime is less than the number of men I am out with. Which explains how I ended up getting to bed at 5am after spending the evening dancing until 4am with six 19 year olds and a 21 year old at the end of season awards last year and I was sober. Someone has to look after them!

Age is another number, my partner is 13 years old than me, but we get on like a house on fire and shes much better than any girl my own age. She lives by the rule, shes only as old as the man she feels  ;)

At 70+ years, AGE IS A WONDERFULL THING, just remember that the older you are the more days you have "woken up" and had the option to enjoy them, there are those that don't wake up for as many days as you !!!!!!!!

"It's a shame she won't live - but then again, who does?"

But the quote from Runner has to be
"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."

I'm 53 but is just a number to me.
Most people say I look younger but I do catch a fair amount of flack for not 'acting my age'.
Apparently I should be playing golf or reading books and taking walks instead of riding motorcycles and quadbikes and climbing mountains and such.

My next adventure (hopefully) involves being ferryed out to a 25 mile long tropical island with the quadbike for a few days of exploring and enjoying a lovely beach all to myself.

Act your age?
Ha! I don't believe in acting. Just be yourself.
I have friends from 16 to 80. Age matters not to me.

I'm a delightful 22yrs of age and have got to admit being the youngest in the office isn't all that fun...

I love being one of the youngest, because I like to think I can sometimes act the most mature.
I like to learn from my elders and I tend to aspire to quite a lot of them.

Aspire to their strengths and learn from their weaknesses
