Morning all,

Just wondering if any one on here is going over this year. It's my first time and can truly not wait. Any ideas of good places to watch from. Managed to get a house just out side of Dougas for 10 days which has cost a small fortune but hopefully worth it.

Yep, going for 3 weeks - cheaper that way.
B & B £25 per night so hoping for the best!
No current knowledge of viewing spots but have the luxury of time to explore.
( If you've any spare room (ours is full) there's another .orger looking for a billet )
Might meet up.

Me and Wideboy are going over for the week and we have rented a house in Onchan.
I go over every year but this will be the first time taking my bike.

Are you on foot or bike?

Think there's about 15 of us going not all in one house tho. Going by bike riding from kent to Liverpool. Putting the mrs on a plane so haven't got to carry to much on the back.

Does the ferry from Norn Iron sell out as fast as the ferry from England?

I'm off tomogs too. Me, my dad (86) and my youngest lad (14). Three generations of bike nuts. My dad used to take my brothers and I when we were little. I think this will be his last trip and he'll have a ball with his grandson who is mad about bikes and racing.

My old man has shed loads of stories from the past, when he used to knock round with Halewood and Stevens.

Can't wait to go but it'll be a little bit heart wrenching when we come home :(

Bloody awesome.
I got a Manx tan! We are now sat in the garden of our rented house with and amazing view over Douglas bay.

Bushys is ridiculously busy this year.

A manx tan, thats practically unheard of! Very jealous your all over there, the racing looks like its been incredible! Micheal Dunlop was on fire!

Last year we watched at Gorselea (among others) which was amazing! Where abouts have you guys been?

Not really a tan more burnt than anything else. Dunlop is on fire this week. I won't say the result for today I case your watching the highlights on itv4.
Been here there and every where this week. Started on bray hill, Greg an baa, hillberry, quarter bridge and bungerlow.

Been a great week shame it's over so soon. Just got a 300mile ride home Sunday with no speedo. Seen a few sv's making some noise over here.

We went to Bray on Monday, Hillberry on Wednesday and governors yesterday.

Back home tomorrow, until next year :)

They're good watching spots though, Bray always has to be done.... and you've had the perfect year for it!!

Its sad when it's all done though, a whole year to wait for the next one!

Hope you guys have a good trip back!!

Unfortunately these things do happen. The alternative is they go all health and safety and put the spectators 100m back from the road behind catch fencing. Wouldn't quite be the same would it?

I'm afraid I'm a bit old fashioned and believe in personal responsibility. All the riders enter this event knowing full well the consequences if something goes wrong, why should it be any different for the spectators. Don't get me wrong, I do feel for those that got hurt, but I'm not about to apportion any blame and I seriously hope those involved don't either. That would be the end of the event.

If they did seek damages I doubt it would come from the TT organisation. The grandstand that was hit was a private scaffold type and I think it either belonged to the burger van there, the shop or pub (not sure what it is anymore) or the scaffold company itself. Also it was free to sit there which makes me believe it's something to do with the burger van.

When we were at bray hill on monday there were a couple stood in front of the barrier that was hit Friday, on the end of someone's private driveway behind a rope. They would have most likely been killed if they'd been there on Friday but what can they do? Its private land. We where sat on the end of governors dip on friday when the news came over the radio, the bikes were coming directly at us and its well known for people to crash there but we chose to sit there knowing the risk.

I'm with RH. If you choose to sit on the inside of 190mph corner which has the bikes heading directly at you from the top of bray hill, what are you to expect?. Anyway this is the IOM, H&S doesn't exist and I hope it doesn't change the way of TT anti nanny state ethos

Yes, same here.

When I went in 83, we nearly got taken out by a somersaulting Vf750.

After that we went and spectated from less risky vantage point, but still enjoyed ourselves.

When you go to the TT you must expect that accidents do happen, so don't be sitting in the wrong place, otherwise you may get hurt.

Made a vid of the trip. If you get a spare 10 mins take a look. First one I've ever made so bare with it.
