This may be one for any law/police members.
My nephew changed his car insurance over but inadvertantly left a gap of one day from the old one ending to the new one starting.
You guessed it, pulled, car seized and 6 points.
Now to be fair the police allowed him to call his insurance to change the start date but being easter they were shut.
My question is, would it be worth going to court and pleading??
He has just moved to a flat so had a big upheaval and was in the process of moving when pulled.
I know he was technically uninsured but luckily nothing happened and it was a genuine error. The police could only do their job and follow the rules but in my opinion i think its a bit unfair to catagorise him with the thousands that do this intentionally.
He's 24 so the points will cost him dearly over the next few years.
I know the onus is on you to check the details are right etc etc but anyone know if errors like this can be viewed and dealt with differently??
