Fitting bibios gizmo when that plug is missing

Instead of continuing to hijack the thread i though i would begin another, please understand ive checked my bikes loom all over the shop & my version of the k3 doesnt have that 'brake switch connector', so im going to wire it alternatively into the sidelight feed which uses the same connector as the gizmo, only problem is the wire that goes into the relay is too short to reach so i will have to extend it.

Just to prove it does fit btw, now i will have to extend bib's gizmo. It wont be difficult, an extra 2m of wire gives it enough length to reach the headlight fairing i just have to decide if i will use a normal crimp, bullet crimp or solder in the extra length & heat shrink. Bit of a booger.

Note: sK3 needs to use the front sidelight to work.

well done. only problem is if you don't use the feed for the sidelight (my original idea) and if the bulb goes you loose power to the gizmo.

the only reason o changed my original idea of the sidelight/tail light was A, connectors for the tail light were 10 times the price and B, the curvy has different ones. Chris spotted this so i made it the rear brake light switch.

anyway, solder and heatshrink are the better way to do it.

your bike must be awkward as no one else has mentioned this.

The way the gizmo connector is wired it uses the feed (brown) from the ignition as required (2nd picture) so its all good (well so the wiring diagram in the book of lies says). I was thinking (frustratingly) about jamming it into the brake light fuse but i knew this wasnt the right way to do it.

Awkward is one word for it & trying to get people to believe it when i have to start threads like this & discover i'm on my own with my machine sometimes, i think im the only one who has tried fitting it to a sK3. I asked in the main thread but no-one confirmed they had fitted one to this version of the sv.

The sK3 certainly isnt the same in ways against all other versions of the sv. The discovery is that wiring loom isnt the same as the k4 onwards (book of lies). It's important that we catalogue the sK3's differences for the few owners there may be.

Could always fit the loom from a k4 onwards might save any future issues ;)

Seriously though, go for the side light connection and solder the extra length of wire is bibio says

my sk3 is missing the brake swirch connector too. would the 3pin plug connecting the rear light not work? if the plug on gizmo was changed?

Bibio said he thought about using that plug but it was 10 times the price for making the kit up.

Ive extended/soldered the wire to allow me to use the plug on one of the fairing side lights at the front but ive discovered that it may have been possible to use the ignition live feed coming out of the alarm connector this would still mean cutting the gizmo relay trigger cable anyway but less mucking about feeding the wire down to the front fairing. The only thing you would have to suss out is how to push the bare end into the sv alarm connector & keep it there. Possibly tinning the bare end or finding a small male crimp that you can push in?

i've posted in the other thread. if anyone had a K3 then i'm more than happy to do a refund. or you can send it back and i'll extend it or i can send an extension cable out. the extension cable will require you to cut and crimp bullets on.

Muzzi. if you want me to pop down on sunday and put an extension in then it's no probs and i do apologise.

He he, i've done it mate. I've honed my motorbike soldering skills fixing the missing alarm plug & extended the gizmo at the same time. Tbh if you add 2m to any future gizmos you make then the option to use the front feed is possible (although for other bikes it may need to be longer).

Im the sK3 guinea pig mate & i have the solution sorted for future reference. Although using the ignition feed from a unused alarm socket is probably the easiest solution. I will never let this bike beat me, you should know that :)

Btw no need to apolgise. Its r&d in the field. Just helping to perfect the product.
