Cheers for the welcome. Am Cheshire/Manchester border. I ride a ZRX 1200, Caz is moving from a ZRX 400 to the SV. The ZRX is a bit too rev hungry for her so here's hoping the SV will suit her better.

Nice.
I think I have picked up a decent one. Totally standard with just 10K on the clock. A bit of corrosion on the alloy bits but otherwise very clean.
No doubt the modding will start soon!!!

Picked it up today, really enjoyed the 40 mile ride home, until I got home that is!! It has an oil leak somewhere that is covering the right hand engine casing and finding its way onto the exhaust & rear tyre so that kind of spoilt the day.
Dealer is coming weds to pick it up to sort it out under warranty. I noticed that the oil level is way over the top mark on the sight glass so hopefully a simple fix but that's their problem not mine.
It has a weird history this one, i.e none!!
Up to 10K service book stamped but that was 10 years ago. Today is still 10 K with no record of any previous MOT's on the database apart from the one done last week.
Looks like it has laid unused for 10 years in a garage somewhere or something? Certainly the condition backs this up as there is little wear anywhere that you would normally expect on a bike this age just some corrosion on the alloy bits. Even the dealer blobs of paint on nuts & stuff is still there.
Previous owner had it 8 years but obviously never used it.

The dealer took it back today. Apparently it needs a new clutch cover casing so they are doing that. Pick it up again at weekend.

Clutch covers are know to warp and leak, mine did and quite a few on here have had the leak from there. I fixed mine with some loctite 5910 it did the job well. At least they are sorting it for you so you can get out to play again soon :)
Has it got fresh tyres on rather than 10 year old ones? I would be wary of riding on old rubber like that, when ive felt old tyres off a bit of a project bike my dad bought they were rock hard compared to newer tyres. And fluids etc?

Yes, they did full service, MOT & new tyres, Pirelli Angels.
Ah good, just checking :) Lets hope the engine case is the only problem :)

Seems to be. I've been over it thoroughly now & it's remarkably clean for it's age. Certainly no sign of it being used much. Seem to be comparitively rare these naked ones but it's exactly what we were looking for.

Got it back & all is well now. Can set to fettling the alloy bits now & we should soon have a minter. First job is the top yoke & fork legs. Have already done the pillion peg hangers & have found that Rustolium titanium silver is a near perfect match. Have done the fork legs on the 1200 with it & it seems durable enough.
