Last year was the first time I've ever had to take a bike for MOT - so when I got the test certificate, I read it from top to bottom (sad, I know) anyway, this years test certificate got stuffed into my jacket pocket and forgotten about .. till about 10 min ago, I found it and was interested to see the Odometer Reading and History (last years only showed the current reading)

I was initially intrigued by the fact that I've done less than 1500 miles since the last MOT, but then read a bit further...

between 31/10/2009 and 29/10/2010 the previous owner had done 19,193 miles.... that's a heck of a lot of mileage in year, surely?? :o

31/10/2009 - 22681
29/10/2010 - 41874
23/03/2012 - 50708
28/03/2013 - 52147

(not sure why the 2011 MOT history mileage not shown, but it was +-48k IIRC)

so, can anyone beat that for most mileage in a year?? lol :smt040

Ness is this the SV1000 you bought off MisterC?
If it is I'm sure it was a hack that saw less water that Yorkie_Chris's SV

20k is doable commuting. I did just shy of 10k first year on the SV. From what I remember it was a bit tatty when MisterC got it
DP bought one from Devil Biccy (I think) with 50 odd thou on it mostly commuting

Once MOT'd one; had done something like 21500 one year (he brought outdated test ticket along to get VIN off etc.) and 2 years after it was 21499... what you push it here backwards? Nope 99,999 miles over 2 years :)

I was impressed with that, think most I ever covered was about 20k/year. Doing 10-15 at moment but it's split between van and bike.

Maybe I'm a bit nutty but I keep all my old MOT certs, tax discs, bills for parts and what has been spent on the bike and have all the necessary schedule stamps in the service book with mileages. Sounds good till you sell and people realise that it was not kept as an ornament in the garage but although high mileage it has at least been maintained.

Might be better if I buy a second hand low mileage speedo head and loose the paperwork :)

I got my SV in July and used it till October/November when it died on me, then got the ER6F, I checked my trip meter B yesterday and noticed I hve done nearly 8k miles since I got it :) It is easy to rack up the miles when you use it to commute 35 mile each way 5 days a week all year round. Think I worked out that If I took no holiday and worked every week day in a year I would do just over 18,000 mile a year on the bike before any pleasure miles I did.

as its been used as a commuter bike its not excessive for a year.. was just surprised to see such a massive mileage jump from year to year..
