Hello orgers,

As some of you are aware, I run a photography competition every year with Wisden and MCC to find the best cricket photos of the year. We have a winner, two runners up and a further 8 shortlisted to make a nice cricket eleven.

The winners were announced today, chosen from more than 350 entries. Even if you aren't a cricket fan I thought you might like to see the winners as there are some stunning photos in here, I only dream of taking images this good!

Here is the winner. The rest can be seen via the link. It's a lot of hard work to bring it all together but I'm pleased with the results. Let me know what you think.

I like the levitating cricketers shot (if you want to see it you'll have to click on the link!).

You know that photographer is one of our Getty regulars and I hassled him to enter but he said he hadn't taken anything good all year. So I chose that one on his behalf as I loved it - I should point out I am not one of the judges so nothing dodgy going on. It looks like they are about to do the YMCA dance while levitating.

Well done on running the competition!

The pic is interesting but not sure what it does for the sport.

I've always thought cricket was a strange sport.
And seeing there is a team from Zimbabwe, with crazy looking players, wearing army helmets, jumping horizontally into the air, doesn't do great deal to bolster that image.

I like the picture of the lad on a van roof its just more visually interesting to me than the usual sports action shots.
