Hi guys,
I'm a fairly new rider with only a years experience currently on an A2 33bhp restricted license.
Bought my sv about 6months ago now and restricted it to make it legal by buying a 33bhp ecu from ebay. Tbh, I can't really feel a difference and I'm starting to think someones sold me a regular ecu!
Is there a big difference I should have noticed??
If not, how can I tell without splashing the cash and putting it on a rolling road to measure its power output?
Any real difference I could look out for in top speed, acceleration, idle speed? Anything like that?
Any past experiences would be helpful,
Cheers :)

hey mate, i had mine restricted and you wont really notice much difference until you get up to 100mph where yours should stop accelerating, if it keeps going way past it then you have a problem, usually restricted sv's will go between 90 and 110mph :) hope this helps :D
Yeah mines restricted too does about 113mph and then runs out off puff, normal SV's do over 120mph very easily
If it's an ECU restriction look at the part number.
The part numbers for full power & 33BHP units are different. This would be what the Police would check so I'd suggest starting there.

Mines restricted, it'll do 110mph but I notice a sudden 'brick wall' effect when I get into the last quarter of my throttle.. That's in any gear

A friend of mine had a K6 with a restrictor fitted, and as the others have said it pretty much ran out of steam above 100mph. (On a private road of course...)

Thanks for replies!
-Jambo the part numbers are different, thanks for the heads up
Everyone else, thanks for the info, just didn't think a restricted bike would be able to hit those speeds! :smt023

I never rode my sv restricted but I had a bandit restricted and it stopped pulling after 7-8k rpm I had 143 indicated on my sv but I only managed 110 on the resticted bandit :) tbh i took my restictors out after 6 months.. you will definitely notice a difference..

Mines restricted. Has been for a year (out this month. Woo). Mines a curvy so its got the washers in, so may have slightly different effects. If i gun it in any gear, it stops pulling at about 7k and sort of surges a little if you keep it at full throttle.
Cant wait to get them out tbh.

That's what my bike felt like when restricted.
if it is a single pin ecu, part no. MGT060 is full power, Restricted is MGT061.
