Yo all. I bought a scooter that needed fixing up with plans to fix it and sell on. However the insurance is coming up more expensive than i thought at around £120 for a year when in reality all i need to do is take it to get moted and get tax(both of which i need insurance for) I know there are some pay as you go insurers but i wondered if anyone has any experience with them?

Worst case scenario i have a few options..

a freind with a van to take the scooter to get moted but may be a bit of a hassle(and i wont be able to tax it..)

Or my dad (mid 50s) should be able to insure it for like £40 i guess

You should be able to get a chunk of the money back if you cancel after a month. Worth checking before you sign anything though.

cancel within 14 days without making a claim and you should only end up paying around £25-50 in admin fees for cancellation? Depends on the company i suppose
