Hi guys, I have a SV650N K5 and I just got a Kuryakyn LED and even tho I'm sure it's pretty simple (and I'm pretty handy) I have no idea where to plug it so it turns on/off with the ignition.

Any help/photos would be much appreciated!
Thx!

Are you talking about a headlight replacement or additional lighting ?

what sort of draw do they take ?
are you going to be running via a relay?
where are you mounting them ?

all these things ar pertinent if you want anything more that vague answers.

No I'm talking about the Battery Gauge from Kuryakyn (http://images.motorcycle-superstore.com/ProductImages/300/2007_Kuryakyn_LED_Battery_Gauge.jpg).

might have been helpful to mention that, I don't know that particular one, but they all do much the same thing, you'll have 2 or 3 wires, a red. a black and another coloured wire, obviously the red is positive, the black negative, the other wire (if you have it) will be ignition (or turn on).

firstly connect the red & black directly to your battery terminals, this will show the meter is working, select the location you want the meter in, find somewhere to ground the Black wire as a good connection securely fastened f,or an earth, then connect together the red and the "other" wire (if you have it) to any major switched 12v circuit (sidelights would be easiest I'd guess), personally I'd solder, but you could get away with a crimp connection, jobs done.

not helpful at all sorry.
I have no idea what is what if you could be more precise on "any major switched 12v circuit" that would be great.
FYI there is only one red and one black.

if you don't know what a 12v switched feed is, then I think you'd be better off asking someone else to do it for you (would of course help if you had your location in your profile here), although very simple to fit, do it wrong and you could short whatever circuit you're tapping into, or of course take it to a garage, shouldn't be more than 15 minutes work.

How much did this set you back, quite fancy one of those?
