Anyone else downloaded the app or signed up for the website?

www.realrider.com

Idea seems sound, community of bikers recording and sharing their favourite routes, marking out danger areas i.e. bad road surface etc, and there is an attempt at a "Fagbook"-esqe posting wall on there for people to leave messages with you too.

Yeah, the idea seems pretty good (just checked your link) but for social rides I just use google maps and share it on a forum ;)

Android app is now up and running. They had difficulty getting it working on all of the different types of handsets running Android.

The main point of the app, to me, seems to be the calling of emergency services if you have an off. It takes readings from accelerometers and processes these to decide you have crashed (Gives a 60 second delay just incase you drop the phone and sets off accidently). It then calls emergency services and gives your location.

Steve,

I didn't make the app that I mentioned here. I got it from RideIt http://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/ and was wondering if anyone else was using it. I signed up and as a "founding member" I got some of the stuff you gotta pay for free.

That's all

Just got an e-mail asking to turn off the emergengy response function - apparently a few false alarms gone out over the weekend.

Hmm that was going to be the only reason for me to use it. No point if they want the Response function switched off!
