matt black, over gloss black

so i bought wrong paint in spray can to spray my skates,

just put one semi coat of gloss black on them but I want a matt black finished. If i got mat black can would this give a matt black affect if I put second coat on as some of the original colour still shows. or should i wipe it off as its still wet

Let it dry them give it a key by rubbing down with some wet and dry then repaint in matt.
