I have about two hours of video I want to chop up and splice together, add some music etc.
I've tried using the canon Software that came with the camera and its poor to say the least. I think they just included it so they could say they had.

So any suggestions for *easy to use*, video editing software?

Cheers me dears!

Guessing you're on windows? If you're on mac, iMovie is good once you're familiar with the layout of the program. For windows, sony vegas seems popular, or maybe premiere elements - not used vegas, premiere is ok but not very user friendly for new users.

Is it something promotional?

The daughter uses a copy of Pinnicle studio. Seems quite powerful.

I use Nero 9, as it is easy to use, I did upgrade to Nero 11, but they've changed the editing suite and I can't figure out how to edit like I do with Nero 9.

So until I do, I'll stick with what I know.

Importing, cutting, in 9 is a piece of cake. I don't bother with transitions, but they're easily inserted.

A guy at work used Windows moviemaker, and added sound tracks and fancy stuff. I can't comment on its ease of use, but it did produce a good end result
