Hope someone can help,I bought a cycle computer from lidl this week but I can't work out where to position the magnet and sensor, are they a certain distance from the rim? The cat eye that I had before could only go in one position so was easy to set up. Thanks

What type is the magnet, a single one with a screw in the back or does it fix across 2 spokes?

If its a single magnet, then doesn't matter where you fix it, it would be better to position the sensor first, and then align the magnet near it. The only place you can't put the magnet, is where the spokes cross. It fixes to one spoke

If the magnet fixes across 2 spokes, then position it close to where the spokes cross. Then position the sensor.

The distance between the magnet & sensor is critical. To far and the sensor won't pick up the signal, to close and it will bash the sensor.

You'll have to input the distance the wheel travels in one rotation to calibrate the computer, which will be in the menu of the computer somewhere.

All the above are for the front wheel, don't try the back wheel as it will probably too far away from the head unit to pick up any signal from the sensor.

Thanks for the quick answer, the magnet is a small round thing with one screw,I set the wheel size in the computer and now thinking about it there will only be one impulse per revolution where ever its placed
