View Full Version : TT Advice
My lovely missus has bought me TT tickets for my birthday so I'm off to the Isle of Man in a month for a few days. I was just wondering if anyone had any general advice for heading over there really. Mainly what's the routine with the ferry. Do I strap my bike down or do you just park up and leave someone to sort it out. Also do I need to take my own strops. There's no info on the steam packet site.
Also what's worth seeing over there during TT week apart from the racing?
Any tips greatly appreciated as the 2 of us going have never been to the TT before.

She must have been on the ball to get you tickets to take your bike over!
You will ride your bike onto the ferry and they will strap it in place.
You will have to un strap it yourself at the other end though.
They use there own rope.
Where are you sailing from?
It depends what dates you are going over to what is on

Never wrong that woman, they are an extremely rare commodity worth at least 1000 camels on the open market.
Cheers gents. She's a good missus alright :smt057
I'm sailing from Heysham near Morecambe in the early hours of May 2nd for 4 days. Sadly I miss the senior but they were the only ferries available.
I've heard that there is beach racing on some days and speed trials somewhere on the island.

You've missed your ferry!!!
We sail on the 1st of June and come back on the 9th.
Where are you staying?
There is Castletown but you will miss that as it is on the 8th.
There's also some racing up in Ramsay like the sprint etc not sure what days that's on this year though.
There's always the entertainment down on the prom every night in front of the Marina and Bushys beer tent.

Cheers gents.
Im a laaaaddddyyyy ill have you know :p
Apologies Minimorecambe :p
We're staying at Glenlough campsite which apparently has a bus stop next to it so we can use the buses to get about if we fancy a few beers while we are out. There's bands on at the campsite and I'll definitely give the prom a go.
I meant 2nd of June for the ferry of course

You aren't too far from Douglas and the Grandstand from Union Mills.
We have rented a house in Onchan for the week as there are 6 of us going this year.
We usually use a home stay in Onchan but she only has 2 spare bedrooms.
If you see a blue pointy SV with a white curvy SV and a black GSXR 750 that's us.
I'll keep an eye out. We will be on a Black Buell XB12 and a blue and white Tuono.
