So after my crash (For those of you that missed my understated thread title... Clicky (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=197988)) I have a snapped frame to get rid of.

I ideally want to weigh it in, being alloy and worth something along with the other collection of alloy stuff I have, But left with the problem of the V5 etc.

I don't want to be SORN'ing it every year, Nor do I want the chance of somebody ringing it and it coming back to haunting me.

I figure my two main options are to register it to a random made up address, or find a company that deal with scrap vehicles to do me a certificate for the DVLA, I don't know where to look for this though! Or how much this will cost me?!

Was so much easier when you just ticked the scrapped box on the V5 :(

Anybody got any advice?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like you just need to write to the DVLA saying you've scrapped the thing

Yep write to the DVLA. I sent the log book back (or part of it) the last time I did this with a covering letter explaining that the frame had been destroyed and would and could never go back on the road. The bike in question was already on SORN, so I would do that first. A couple of weeks later I got a letter back from them confirming I was no longer the registered keeper.

Never knew that piece of info, Thank you very much, I shall write a short letter to them and include the V5.

Ta!
