View Full Version : Pointy throttle body problem?
While fitting my power socket I had the air box off to route the cables.
While it was in this state I turned the throttle. Only one of the two push rod things moved, only the bottom one. There are two of them and they are parallel to each other. Is this the expected behavior or do I have a problem?
Thanks

It's perfectly normal. The throttle cables are only connected to one set of butterflies, the other set, (the upper ones), are not controlled by you, but by the fuel injection system. In the same way the slides are not connected to the cables in a CV carb, effectively the two systems are self controlled, in the case of a carbed SV passively by the differing vacuums up and downstream of the carb, and, in the case of a fuel injected SV, actively by the Secondary Throttle Valve Actuator.

Thanks, case closed.
