One of the bolts to the generator cover (i think thats what it is, left hand side?) flew out when I was trying to keep up with a couple of Ducati 1098's the other day and the hole looks thread bare now (its the same hole I had to drill a snapped bolt out of in the past). My question is would a heli coil be sufficient to repair this and what size would I need?
Thanks in advance!

yeah a helicoil would do the job, be a bit careful though as the thread goes into the engine casing itself, screw that up and you'll need to completely strip the engine as it's vertically joined, if memory serves me right it's an M6 thread with an 8mm head.

cheers dude, i tried an m6 that was a bit longer in length and it appears to have gripped and tightened ok without bottoming out, now is there any reason i shouldn't have done this?

i.e. will the longer bolt protrude into something it shouldnt?

if it didn't bottom out then it isn't protruding internally as they are blind holes.
