Hey all, thought I'd start a thread to see what bikes people have owned & what you've moved onto (or held onto!). So post some piccies!

So you can see a fair few Suzukis and a fair few grey imports. The only really poor bike was the CZ125, which was a heap. I liked all the others for one reason or another, the Superdream was my first bike after passing my test & I remember it felt really powerful! I loved the Ducati & that was the inspiration for me getting the SV - I wanted another V twin. The FZR was hilarious - the tacho didn't even measure until 3000 rpm & it redlined at 18000! The GSXR 750 was a great bike until I was knocked off at a roundabout. Even though it was a good bike, I found the Bandit strangely uninvolving. I should have pictures of plenty of these, I'll dig them out & post them when I can.

Went round the Nurburgring twice on the CBR - flat out at about 130, still only half way along the straight. After two laps I called it quits because I was convinced I'd kill myself if I went around again. The single best thing I've done on a bike though.

And this in 1980 with a pre-war Swallow Jet 80 steel open sidecar body attached to the AA sidecar chassis. The bike was an ex-AA machine. I kept this until 1991 and did thousands of miles on it both with and without the sidecar. The picture was taken in the Pyrenees on a trip to Spain with a friend on his newly rebuilt 750cc Bonnie.

After crashing it I fell out of love with the 600rr and bought a Ducati Hypermotard 1100s, which I hated and could not get used to the motocross style of riding, spent thousands on it... And still hated it...

I then had what I then called one last splurge, and bought a 2009 fireblade. An incredible machine, I sold it after around 7 months for various reasons, mainly work taking over my life and following other non motorcycle related interests amongst other things...

First bike was one of these that we pulled out of a skip, painted in bright pink Hamerite and it was then rebuilt. Amazingly, despite the horrific paint job, some swine stole it and set it on fire in 1995.

After a long gap while I sorted my life out (Uni, girlfriends, work) I finally bought the SV but failed my test, so the wife bought me this.

Had this lump for a while, but after the SV it was slow, boring and soulless.

I had a play with a K9 for a little while, but it felt tiny and with a throttle stop restrictor it had no power.

This is my oldest bike, a 1981 Honda CB900F.
It has a swingarm from a VF1000R, SV650 wheels, CB600F4i front calipers, WP fully adjustable shocks, Race Tech springs and emulators, an ATK fork brace and lots of homemade bits. The engine is bored to 1000cc with 11:1 compression Arias pistons and 32mm Keihin CR Special racing carbs. It's lightened balanced and blueprinted and makes 105 rwhp and 68 ft/lbs of torque (up from 70 and 47 stock).
It's 80# lighter than stock, the wheelbase is 3" shorter and the rake matches that of the SV650. It handles very much like the SV, except in fast turns (above 90mph) it tends to wallow.
It's an old beast, but still great fun!
