So the weather has picked up and the sun is shining (bit chilly out of the sun still), anyway, just wondering what your summer attire will be?

I've done some digging and right at the bottom of my bike gear wardrobe I've dug out some older kit, a couple of pairs of very bright camo combat trousers (yellow & red), a couple of pairs of black Draggins, an older black leather jacket, my old motocross armour, I have a knox undershirt with armour and I'll be using my Octane A/star or Weise WSG2 gloves.

so what's your summer kit ?

Cheers Mark

I take the lining out of my Arlen Ness leather jacket (doesn't see an awful lot of use in the winter anyway as tend to wear textile jacket). Gloves are medium weight Goretex Alpinestars (pretty old but still functional). I tend to wear regular jeans, but use motorcross knee and shin guards underneath.

Just invested in some A* summer gloves (gpx). Much better on the hot days. My only regret is I didn't get some sooner.

Awesome gloves in my opinion. Not sure what 'model' mine are, but they have stood up to over six years of abuse. Apart from some light wear of the leather and a couple of stiches in one of the thumbs they're in pretty good nick.

Yep, really good airflow. Also not got a full gauntlet so you get some air up your jacket sleeves but there is some protection in that area. Mine are the 2013 version and they have increased wrist protection slightly from last years model. Jacket has forearm armour too so I feel reasonably well protected considering I'm wearing a 'shortie' glove.

Haha, temporarily on hold again now although bank holiday weekend was beautiful.

I use an old set of Hein Gericke textiles for the winter and RST Slice 2 piece leathers on the couple of days of summer each year :D

I've shed two layers above the waist, thermal liner removed from my motorcycle jacket, and I no longer wear a fleece underneath it.

Pretty much the same as the rest of the year just with less underneath it. Then again it's still p*ssing down...

Let it rain I say, less power rangers in the way :)

Alpinestars GP-pro gloves ( got new for a frigging steal as they have triumph on them, so cheap in fact i bought 3 pairs for less than the cost of one normal pair)

Alpinestars MX-1 jacket; this has incredible venty bits that channel air down your sweaty back while you ride. Couldnt live without this jacket on hot days.

Alpinestars Apex Track pants; again, the strech kevlar on these and the perforations make them cooler than my hood jeans.

Old Sidi vertigo's; venting on these is crap tbh but the adjustable calf ratchets make getting the lower parts of leathers into them a doddle and give you that nice iron-man-putting-on-his-gear feeling :)

never mentioned warm Tony, but then I've never let any weather stop me riding when I wanted to.

Got my old combats back from the dry cleaners, they look new, considering they are at least 15 years old that's not bad, although the white bits are a bit bright, still a few runs will get a bit of grime on them.

I'm fortunate in that I've been riding for a long time and have loads of kit, just about everything you could imagine I've either owned or still do, for example I have four grades (temp wise) of textiles, a couple of one piece leathers, 5 two piece sets and various other jacket/ trouser combinations, 16 pairs of gloves 9 pairs of boots and 7 crash helmets, I normally have 3 outfits on the coat rack, it was only the finding of these old combats that prompted me to wonder what everybody else was wearing.

Cheers Mark.

Swap from the A* textile to A* leather - TX-1 I think. When (if) it warms up properly I will take out the liner too. Vent zips work quite well. Could do with some new summer gloves though as my ten-year-old-plus Dannisport ones are looking a bit frayed around the stitching. Oh, and open the chin vents on my Arai.

Still keep my base layer on all the time - in winter they are a thermal layer but in summer they wick moisture away from sweaty areas and stop the over-layers sticking to your skin.

yeah I have a set of four season base layers, they really are very effective in both hot and cold, a couple of the guys got the cheap Lidl or Aldi ones and say they work well, so these days you can get the same benefits for a lot less cash.

Same as the rest of the year but without the windproof mid-layer and summer gloves instead of the Spada Enforcers, although I shall chuck them in the tankbag for longer runs just in case it rains.

RST tracktec gloves, tracktec jeans, RST Mototextile jacket or one piece leathers. Alpine Stars SMX-R or SMX PLUS or SMX2 with Grin factor Kevlar jeans. Have a choice of lids too. Arai or Shark

Got a couple of other bits too just incase I need them.

Both linings will come out of my Halvarssons Jacket, liner out of my Halv trousers, and A* summer leather gloves will go on. Not got any leathers, but wouldn't mind doing some trackdays, so they are on the cards sometime soon!
