The plan is to have Ron (Siii) do the talky bit at 10:00 (while I run around in a daze) We should and will be on the road by 10:15

I just hope everyone can make it up for this years fun.

What a fantastic route..... thankyou, thankyou, thankyou :smt026 that takes in all of my most favourite parts of Scotland and is going to be fantastic. It will be more than worth every bum hurting, back aching mile to get up there. Really looking forward to this :smt041

Fill up before we set off as it'll be Applecross or 40 miles later at Kinlochewe! So 86 or 123 miles

I think there'll be a few of us in a similar state, 560 is a slog indeed for you!

Well chuffed you've worked Applecross in, only done it as pillion before :D And that road to Eilean Donan is a corker too. Eeeeeee!

andrewsmith

It's around 300 miles from Newcastle via the green welly

Head for the A85 and race over Rannoc moor via YC's favorite piece of road...

Couldn't go that close and not make the visit. Hopefully the weathers like it is tonight and we'll all be smiling. Mind you in the last couple of weeks I've developed a phobia for narrow roads :-)

Na ah. Not possible. Not where I come from, no choice! ;)

One question though, is MrsGiggles' trike to be the first one up Applecross??

haggis
17-05-13, 07:49 PM
I am reliably informed the mobile dental clinic (basically a lwb truck with a portakabin strapped on it's back) goes up the Bealach once a year.
Driven by a female biker too!

A trike should therefore be no probs. :riding:

andrewsmith

Hahaha

That would be a laugh. Gemz trike will fit up the pass range rovers were tight up there

I have no air in the bottom of my tyre, 3/4 of it is ok, so i might only get 3/4 the way up there, you think? nah seriously, mrs made, nae suggested we bail last year due to the ****e weather, so if it's bad this year i'll be on my own but i'm coming, otherwise i might as well sell the bloody ornament, please have 25 deg, lol

Im not afraid of narrow roads there are some tight ones near me and I do have a habbit of finding the tightest poss, now speedbon the other hand is my downfall , I make driving miss daisy look fast and on narrow roads itl be worse as turning is hard. And none of getting lost malarky I dont like having to turn round lol

Going over to Applecross on the Bealach na Ba is going to be fun for you on the trike !!!!

On the practise run I managed to run out of talent and tarmac on one particularly tight bend !!!!

Don't get it myself !!!! It's tedious single track and lots of cars coming the other way. Lovely view but ????

The rest of the route is kick-ass tho, so don't mind too much. Invergarry to Eilenn Donan Castle is epic.

I think its awesome but can get boring once you have done it a few times in one weekend. What Ron said - the Glen Garry road is amazing!...

Always felt that sign should point out that it's not seven and a half miles to Applecross via the alternative route, it's seven and a half miles to the start of the 25 mile twisty single track low level road to Applecross. Important point for anyone thinking of skipping the Bealach...

Just checked route out it should be doable as it looks like you cant get much speed up, 86 miles yo fuel should be fun have never tested it to that lenth thank god for reserve tanks and my jerry can lol. My biggest worry is that im going to hold you all back I do ride rarther slow, will mull it over and decide sat a.m.

Don't worry about speed Mrs G, this is all about the beer.

The road ain't that bad folks. They can get a gritter along it in winter and we'll be there in the height of the Scottish summer.

So expect snow!
