this'll be my 11th AR, but I haven't done the actual rideout bit for a few years and as it's an area I know well enough won't be doing that part this year, my vague plan as it's so close is to turn up on site have a relaxed day and drink a bit/lot and crash the night in the tent before riding home again.
Just wondering who'll be around on site and from when to decide what time to roll up there ?
Haven't cast anything in stone, so it could be anything from Friday evening to Saturday evening to get there all depends on the company.
Cheers Mark.

I believe myself and thunder ace will be on site from early o'clock on the Friday.
I know you might find me being so specific with the times unnerving but TBH I'm not sure
If Nathan is coming down on the Thursday night and lipping over mine or if we're meeting down there Friday, which will change the time I get there a little.

Me and Lily have decided to appear this year to have a catch up with peeps we know and meet some of those we have seen posting etc for the first time.....no bikes obviously but planning on pitching up Saturday lunchtime ish and heading off Sunday when most people vanish.

If I'm able to come I may well just hang about the site.

Now have confirmation I will be in the US on an induction week with my new employer from Monday 17th June. Unless I get a flight home on Friday and have no jetlag* on Saturday it is now unlikely that I will be able to make it at all...:(
*Will be coming home from California so jetlag is pretty much innevitable.

I will not be riding because I'm coming in the car so I can bring my camera. And big tent. And fire bowl. And maybe even some cake. But no breasts. Definitely not.

You're going to leave your breasts at home?

Oh that's a shame, people always like to see a few shots of themselves on the ride, is no one taking a "bike cam" or something, or doing the lunch stop for a few pics :smt102

I'm doing stills and video at the start, end, lunch and end route if possible.

I know a few from the GM have bike cams, as do others on the ride. I'll be taking my camera along. May well have someone else do the photos on the route-i'll soon find out.

I have just fixed myself a new position for my camera which will be better. Will test it tomorrow.

yeah at the moment I've got a long ride Thursday, stuff on Friday & Sarurday morning, but if I can shift it it'll give me more flexibility on arrival time. just need to source a decent bottle to bring....:D
Your next a pub. I'm sure your find a substitute ;)

if I really wanted to quadruple (at least) the price of decent scotch, paying pub prices is the easiest way I suppose....
Well that's true.
But he is letting you pitch a tent in his field ...
So your be paying for U +4 ;)

don't mind a few pints from there, but the field is supposed to be free isn't it ?
Spank86

It is free, but the pub aren't allowing us to use it out of the goodness of their hearts, they are expecting to make some cash off some of us.

I appriciate that, but a profit on a dozen pints of beer is nearer what would be a standard camping fee, not the profit on 30 measures of single malt which would make the camping fee something like £50, I'd presumed the landlord was betting he'd make his money back from the trade of a "captive" audience, so to speak.
Are you saying we're not allowed to drink our own stuff and have to buy from the pub only then, part of the AR to me is taking a carefully selected bottle with me I can enjoy on the Saturday evening, I hadn't seen anything restricting that, but if that's the case I'd probably abandon the drinking altogether, which means I've no need to camp?

Bring what you like Mark. Nobody will care. There will be enough of us getting ****faced in the pub to get them their profits, plus lots of us will be buying their food too.

That's kind of what I originally thought, but I wouldn't want to be nefariously supping from a bottle hidden in a plain bag.....;)

Sorry, wasn't saying that at all. We're more than welcome to eat and drink whatever we like In field whether its bought from the pub or otherwise.
And if you plan on having 30 measures of whiskey I'm not surprised you wouldn't want to pay pub prices. That would be almost the cost of a decent hotel.

:smt082 makes me sound like a right :smt030, but then I rarely indulge purely for pleasure, however when I do I don't like to be restricted....
