Shoei helmet really noisey.

Hello , just get back from a day trip and on the way home, I found out my shoei quest helmet ( I think that's the model) is really damn noisey! The Wind noise is stupid, only bought it a few weeks ago, had to adjust the visor because it washy sealing properly and now all this wind noise, any suggestions what I can do to reduce the noise? Or is it simply down to buying ear plugs?

ear plugs. Loved my Shoei but again wind noise was pretty bad. Ended up getting some ultimate ear for about £70 and kept out 80% of the noise. Now lost my ear plugs and smashed up my lid.

I had the same thing with my Shoei XR1100 then I fitted the chin wind stopper thing bit that came with it. Solved the problem.

a lot of factors can effect this, screen height, how you hold your head, what speed you do even handlebar position (it'll alter you head angle), try shifting the way you hold the helmet to the wind :smt102

a few years ago I had an AGV X-vent, at about 50mph it was fairly noisy, but at 70mph it was almost silent.

Same... Although still not 'quite'... Ventilation is epic though, except anything over 30 and you can't use the front mouth one as it blows your eye haha

Are you sure you've got the visor right. The quest is meant to be decent for wind noise.

IMO, you should be getting used to wearing ear plugs all the time anyway, regardless of lid model or manufacturer, excessive wind noise WILL give you permanent ear damage, ear plugs greatly reduce this.

If you wear a decent fitting ear plug you won't even know you're wearing them after a while.

I will take it back to where I bought it ans see if they will adjust it for me and from now on I will use rob some plugs from work

Does not hurt to ask if it's a decent shop. My local is an Arai specialist who carry spares which is useful.

No real need to "borrow" ear plugs from work - 100 pairs of Max Lite are only 14 beer tokens from EvilBay.

I prefer the silicone Xmas tree style ear plugs personally, they stay in my ear unlike foam ones.

Okay I've done a few tests, it's quieter with the visor up one click, at 60 I can barely hear myself shouting in the helmet, my nitro helmet is quieter :( this helmet is only a week old !

I have a qwest, its terrible for noise and my last lid was an xr1000!
If you fit the chin curtain it makes it much better, but then you cant use a foggy (boo). Earplugs are a must with any helmet, unless you aren't bothered about going deaf.
