View Full Version : June Photo Competition - Wild Animals, in the wild.
Had a good look through all the previous winners, some incredible photos, making mine not look half as decent. Incredible skills some people have on here.
I looked to try and establish a topic that was not to similar to anything else...
I've decided on 'Wild Animals, in the wild'
It's easy enough to capture a wild animal in the zoo or safari park... but it can be a challenge sometimes capturing a wild bird, fox, etc doing its thing.
Below is a wild Ibex, having fun jumping around on a near vertical mountain side.
Captured on a 600D with 135mm lens.

Two Stags near to Durness Scotland.
Taken with a Nikon 3100 with a 300mm lens.
I was in a campervan at the time hence the strange look I think!!

I was going to put in the one of a stag I took in the New Forest, but after trawling through a few holiday snaps decided I liked this one better. This makes me think of the little elephant in Jungle Book. Taken in Sri Lanka.

This'll have to do until I get the shot I'm so desperately trying to get...
a Black bear swimming across the river in the mist...

Mine for the month, a lizard in Capri. This cool little fella was sunbathing on a rock, we nearly walked straight past him. :)

LPH gets my vote this month, podium places to Haggis and Mister_C respectively.
This may have been the hardest decision for a long while. Some cracking shots and trying to remember to balance wildest animal with best photograph made it tricky, spent so long scrolling and debating but got there in the end.
Bluepete for me, and Dave of Preston and LPH and everyone else as they were all bloody good this month :)

keith_d for me, great shots all round.
I like Sir Trev then Bluepete then Haggis. Another good month...
Ch00 with BP as a close second. Excellent shots!

[Cough] That's my picture actually. And I really should be charging commission seeing as how many times it's been pasted about the site :)
My vote goes to Ch00 - love the expressions on both of their faces. Runner up for me is Haggis as the pose struck is so natural, with Bluepete third (we get dozens of Red Kites over Wycombe every day).

Ch00 for me, on account of it being an animal (I know we've had the "it's not a human therefore its an animal" debate) then 2nd and 3rs between Keith_D and BluePete for stunning photography
