Evening all. I fitted a Pyramid fender extender today and just wanted to share my fitting of choice. I went for Granville silicone sealant and adhesive, £4.99 in Halfords rather than the self tappers. I weighed up ordering Sikaflex on eBay but decided this would hopefully do the job!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/03/zura5ady.jpg

I used silicone sealant and mine's still going strong after three months, looks much neater than tape but a bit more fiddly!

I could've done with another pair of hands but managed to get it on alright. My cheapo G-clamps worked a treat!

That story sounds familiar ...

We have a demo that needed a spoiler fitting just for show. As they wanted to remove it,so we cut off the fixing lugs ,siliconed. Sealer it on.
They decided to road test the car.Its still on it lol.

Did. Not. Work. Applied gentle pressure with my arm as I was looking for he stock horn location, and off it popped! Self tappers and tape is the way forward!

i done mine with Sikaflex no clamps nowt and its still solid after 2 years. silicone should work just as well if its exterior type and not that silly bathroom stuff. you want the stuff that stinks to high heaven of vinegar and makes your eyes water.

I used double sided tape to hold in place while I drilled holes then used small screws.

Same. But I did bottle out of doing it myself and got Spannerman to fit it for me :).

Mines been on for a year or so now using silicone. Im a plumber and hae seen basins etc stuck to the wall using silicone alone. As long as both surfaces are clean and free of dust etc, it should have no problem. Its pretty strong stuff.

Although if you did want to take it up a level, there are products like stix all and no more nails which are stronger again!

Having said that, sometimes you just cant beat a screw ;) lol

Silione and a couple of nice anodised black button heads. Found the mud leaked thru without silicone.
