Glove sizes

Cn somebody explain glove sizes to me please.
I want to buy a pair of Sealskinz but not part with my dosh until I have either the correct sizing or even better try them on in a stockist if anybody knows of one near Chelmsford.

Anybody else used their products?

i believe its a measurement across the palm of your hand, i.e the hand width

Yes,I get that bit but what does 3 1/2" or 9cm equate to in glove sizes?

Unfortunately I can't use my old sets of gloves are they are all stretched/shrunk/restretched and generally worn through use

it's a lottery Dicky. no one seems to stick to the correct sizes any more. i'm a 9 but have long fingers so i have to go one size up but now it seems i'm an 11-12 as my Rukka are an 11 and fit perfect and lets not get started on S, M and L

The bigger branches of Halfords stock them in the cycling section Mac, by bigger I mean the warehouse sized ones

I've got their socks, bleedy great when boots aren't completely waterproof, but feel odd due to the waterproof membrane

Mac, I think most yacht chandlers should sell them as well, plus good outdoor shops such as Cotswolds etc

Army issue gloves are done by foot size if that helps at?
