I've had my Halfords Lifetime socket set, well for a lifetime. Its good stuff, maybe not up to professional standard, but for the home mechanic, plenty good enough.

Buy via Quidco and get a bit more off.

reserve and get in store, they had a similar offer on last year but with the addition of buy the 120 piece set adn get 40% off a cabinet.

went to my local store and saw the quality of the ones on display and they made the standard carp in the boot of my pointy look like snapon!

spoke to them and asked if they had any others to see and went through a few boxes and were not much better.

May have been a supplier issue which may well have been resolved but it put me off at the time. just to give you a heads up.

I've had the 170 piece version for about 14 year now, it's seen far more than "normal" use on literally hundreds if not thousands of bikes, broken a couple of bits, but the main attraction is you walk in your local store and they just replace it there & then, even now it's still my everyday tool set.
