Hi,
I'm just in the process of buying a speed four, after having decided I wanted something a bit different...

I know there a fair few bits that CAN cause a problem, but do you have any advice as to what to look for when buying one?

The one I've got in mind is a 2006 model with 21k miles, loads of history but no invoice for chain or sprocket, but it is being sold by a triumph dealer so must be in pretty good order..

Any help welcome,

Thanks
James

Look at the list I've put in the description of the ebay listing, most of those are the things that are the best modifications to do to any speed four!

Or check out this link, http://www.speedfour.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=27
Shows most of the problems there as well.
Also, check its been serviced at regular intervals! English bikes are high maintenance! Not like the jap bikes!

Hope this helps James, If you'd rather save spending the money on getting the problems and niggles sorted, buy mine!!! :p

Thanks for the info..

I would buy yours but the one I'm going for is a 2006 plate, with less miles for less cash from a triumph dealer!

I'm no expert but either the one I'm buying is cheap or ...... Well you can finish that sentence :)

I would like to think I've fit a good deal though

Hi mate,

It's a lovely bike and looks to be really well looked after too, so stick to the price unless you are in need of a quick sale.. I am sure it is worth every penny you are asking.

Free bump ;)

Hi mate...I like the look of your bike. I see you would like another SV. Would you be willing to do a deal? I have a 2006 650S in extremely good nic. Newly new tyres, service just done, chain and sprockets just done... custom raised renthal bars, and custom recovered seats. Its Euclase silver...see my previous posts for pics. Only thing, it's done higher milage at 41k...but is in really good condition.
