Either people don't bother to read it,possibly in some case not had one with a second hand bike which I accept but a lot of the questions asked on here are answered in there.
Anything that improves your knowledge of how a piece of machinery that you trust your life to,operates has got to be worth reading.
I appreciate that everybody is not mechanically minded and may need a bit of help now and then but ask the question after reading the handbook and if you don't have one borrow one to read from a fellow orger.

And some people think it rude when they get the response "RTFM".

This place is really benign, one forum I'm on for microcontrollers, they can get a bit rude if the info you ask for is somewhere in the (500 page, 30MB pdf file) datasheet :-P
