View Full Version : That golden glow.
Just did an oil and filter change on the bike and wondered if anyone else gets that feeling that you've done it a favour when the sight glass is a lovely golden colour rather than black.
Gave the chain a good clean as well now that's all gold too.
Contemplating actually washing the bike but decided that would be going too far so did a test fit of the AR camping gear instead and realised all my bungies have gone missing!
Now just need to decide whether to pack a lounge suit or black-tie for Saturday night. What's the AR dress-code this year?
At first i thought this maybe a specialist fetish thread.
I do enjoy giving the bike a service and refreshing the fluids. Knowing its going to run that tiny bit smoother.
Saturday night is going to be Tops & Tails

Yeah, I like an oil change. Prefer keeping it in the engine too. Mines always a nice blood red, thanks to Castrol. Cage is the same. Not sure if I should boast about having something common with Cage.

I'm a very sympathetic rider and mechanic. I'm a bit awestruck at how all those bits of metal don't wear out overheat and lock up. It's a miracle. I always look after the Oil on my bikes. But then again I used to ride 2 strokes and those ucking things used to seize up lots. Yeah I like it too.

Next weekend, ride is on the Saturday from west meon/loomies, returning to same.
People will be congregating and camping Friday and Saturday nights and there will likely be a small Sunday run for those hanging around.
Any or all of this you are welcome to attend.
By Sunday, he actually means Saturday.
Get to Loomies for about 08:30. We'll be at the big pub opposite with about 100 people camping in their field.

That sounds like a plan u no!!
Ok as im bein a tit and tryin to sort this last min, got a few questions;
im guessing everyone (or most) is camping so provided i can bring a tent n a bag im good, if not then its a trip to the hotel or bk home, wheres most ppl staying?
If i ride down saturday and aim to be there at about 3, am i gonna have to prop up the bar until everyone returns from a ride or can i join in somewhere?
Im well up for this now! Just hope the other half didnt have plans?!! Lol
I would say get there around 5-6. We will still be on our way back at three, and you will be obliged to get the first round in (potentially for up to 100 people) It will be too complicated to give you an exact time a place to meet up with us.
Most people I believe are camping, but im sure there will be a few staying in local b&b's / hotels / whatever. I say you should join in camping with the majority to experience it in full, but do whatever you want to :D

See, that's how you attend a ride out. Get interested, book some time off, and just go. None of this faffing about worrying. :)

What is this tent like Laurie? Mine is horrific, so if it's better than a single skinned rotting 10 year old POS, I wouldn't mind borrowing it!

I'll bring two anyway. It increases the odds of me finding a place to kip when the Pub closes.
