Hi peeps, my K7 08 pointy makes this noise when I turn the ignition on. It's always done it but I don't know why. The bike starts and runs fine but I would like to cure it if possible. It sounds like something is getting stuck but not quite. Could it be the fuel pump? Click pic for video.

Is the sound the secondary throttle valve actuator? It does a set of moves when you turn the bike on.

My K9 makes that noise, and I bet it doesn't make that noise if you start the ignition with the killswitch engaged, then if you flick the killswitch down it'll make that noise?

Sure you haven't got a dot matrix printer in there?

Not sure, will check the next time I'm near the bike.

Its the standard start up noise.
Its to do with the fuel being primed for the injectors, unless some one else knows better.

Any way it as it should be.

Don't worry.

When you turn the ignition on the fuel pump will run until the fuel system is at full pressure, this normal. Your bike's pump sounds a bit noisier than the average, but running when switched on and making a noise is completely normal.
If you turn the ignition on with the engine stop switch off the pump will not be energised, this is normal - if the engine is not to be run the various engine electrics/electronics are not energised, only when in the run state will the injection and ignition systems - fuel pump included - be switched on.
