After comparing this pipe to others on ebay £25 would be a more suitable price. To make it fair il give FG1 first dibs if he is still interested. Cannot post stand due to weight, sorry.
So, let me get this right. Has the original asking price gone up. If the original price stands, I'll pop down to Basingstoke and collect it tonight.

Sorry FG1 but after comparing this header with others on ebay £25 is a fairer price. I mentioned that if you are happy with this price your welcome to it, if not il offer it to the other user. I should have checked with others before posting the price, sorry to confuse
Ok, can't say I'm overly chuffed at the price increase after advertising at a set price but at the end of the day, it's yours to do what you want with.
I will pass on the sale !

This is all a bit iffy?
That's why you should conduct your negotiations by PM. In principle nothing wrong but the org is kind of a "gentleman's agreement" sorta place when you're buying and selling stuff sometimes, so this does not appear to be cricket.
I didn't use PM because the original advert was £10 for the header pipe and I was happy to pay the asking price. If I was going to barter with him then yes, I would have PM'd but as there was nothing to hide, why hide it....

Dude, you couldn't be *rsed to do your research before you advertised it... man up and take the hit.
Fair enough, was more for the OP to consider if he was thinking of negotiating. Don't get me wrong, I'd feel the same as you as you called dibs on the stated price. But if the seller has offers then he's inclined to consider them. Its just about the way you do it so you don't **** anyone off.

So you advertise something, someone says they will buy it then you up the price, Nice, I would advise nobody buys anything from you [etesv650

This is not an auction site! You agreed to sell the header pipe for £15 delivered to FG1 to then go back on that agreement because someone has offered you more money is not on and is bad form in my opinion.
I'll offer you £25 posted for the header if all falls through...
As for you... You're just as bad as the OP for offering the higher amount despite a sale already being agreed. What you should have done is called "dibs" on it if FG1 didn't want it.

Well look at the uproar.

I offered £25 and then quoted.. 'If all falls through', this would be me calling dibs and still allowing the first offer to be taken up.
Don't cry.

Lose the attitude mate, how would you feel if you had agreed to buy something for a certain price and then the seller upped the price afterwards?
If calling dibs you'd say something like
"Dibs on the ... If ... Doesn't want it"
LewSpeight

I wouldn't be happy..
But the OP also had every right to tell me to feck off cos he's already sold it...
Sorry about the attitude, I just don't appreciate being told what I should and shouldn't do by somebody I don't know.

Exactly you wouldn't be happy.
By offering more money than the previous person in this case FG1 you effectively turned it into an auction, therefore breaking the section rules and as one of the mods of this section it is down to me to see the rules are followed whether you know me or not it makes no odds

Then perhaps you shouldnt be on a forum run by people you don't know?
by offering more you could have undermined the sale. The OP could have easily told FG1 he didnt want to sell it after all and then PM'd you based on your offer whereas a simple "dibs" avoids that issue.

Right, I'm sorry.
Didn't realise this would've of happened.
