Hi guys,

Had a small fall a while back on my SV only damage was to the rear brake lever.
The bit you push down on snapped off, luckily it also bent outwards in such a way that the rear brake was perfectly usable and have been ridding with it for months.

Anyway its come MOT time and i doubt it will pass with it I've had a quick look on ebay but its £30+ for a new brake lever. Any cheap places to get one or perhaps a cheap alternative from a different bike or aftermarket?

I really dont want to spend too much on it as i am planning on selling it soon.

Thanks in Advance

Drill a hole through the bit remaining and stick a bolt through it.You can even put a bit of rubber round the bolt and it will look like it was meant to be that way.Ive been running mine like that for about five years.

Ditto the above, and add that £30 is not a bad price - a new standard one is more.

I'd also say if you're selling the bike, snapped bits tend not to help negotiate the best price :)

You could perhaps use a fixer peg: http://www.fixer-peg.co.uk/

They do a drill & fit toe piece that looks a bit more finished than a bolt, and the temporary measure too.

I bought a used standard one for 28 quid in the end, the drill and replace idea would be ideal if I was going to continue riding, but like mentioned above probably not the best when planning to sell soon.

Thanks for everyone's help, And I mean in total over the last year, learnt a great deal from this forum.
