After two years of hard service my cheapo tuzo leather gloves have fallen apart great gloves that they were.
So need some new ones what's folks recommendations for a leather sports glove don't need them to be waterproof have my gore-tex jobbies for the day to day riding but it's nice to have some leather ones when the sun does peak through.

Budget not that fussed as long as I get something that's a good job.

I have alpinestars sp8 I think they are. Nice and comfortable once broken in. I think I paid about £60 almost two years ago, so there may be a newer version now.

I have these

Very comfortable. Snug fitting and still fairly warm on cooler mornings.

Had some A* gpx (2013) for a couple of months now. Great for the warmer weather. They have wrist protection but as they're not full gauntlet they allow the breeze up your jacket sleeves. Vented knuckles & fingers too.
Go a size up if you get these.

I've had a pair of these since May last year and have worn them on a daily basis. They're still in brilliant condition, no popped or pulled stitching and superbly comfortable. Cool in hot weather but surprisingly warm in cooler weather too.

I did a short review of them here (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=178692) last year.

I'm always careful buying things from ghost bikes. A lot of the time you will find, in the small print, that they are cheaper because of some defect. Also, some of the stuff on there is cheap because its ****e.

The gloves may be cheap, but I've been wearing them for well over a year on a daily basis as I said. They're well made, and 14 months on, still in excellent condition.

I've had a number of items from Ghostbikes over the last 3 years, and with the exception of a pair of Spada boots, all have been good. The Spada boots were replaced with absolutely no quibbles, the customer service could not have been better.

The Duchinni Stig gloves were actually bought from Busters, I only used the Ghostbikes page as an illustrative example of the gloves.

What about my exhaust being £320 quid off when they had to order them from Scorpion?? :D Massive pricing error!!!

They offer them cheap for the triumph because nobody can stand the noise of them as standard.

I was wearing a brand spanking new pair of Weiss textile gloves when I got knocked off my VFR in 2011, cost £60, only the second time they'd been worn

Admittedly my hands bore most of the fall, but the gloves simply didn't do anything to save my skin! (However they were very warm winter gloves!)

Suffice to say ill be picking my choice of gloves very carefully from now on, and suggesting to anyone to look at the protection they give you if you have an off... Not just looks and comfort!!

well after all your lovely advice i pulled on my sensible hat and got a pair of Rukka Apollo gloves, will get better use of a good pair of commuting gloves instead of a pair that will only get a few weeks work a year.
Any one needs a pair of everyday gloves these are very good, not clumsy like most waterproof gloves. Really worth having a look at folks.

I tried loads of pairs of gloves, when I bought mine a couple of years ago. Frank Thomas, Alpinstars, ect. I'm not one for "branding" but I tried a pair from a company i'd never heard of called "Racer". and they were fab. I think the palms were kangaroo skin, which was much "softer" ie flexible, the stitchinginside the fingers didn't annoy me by being in the "wrong place". They also looked the part with that funky carbon fibre window over the knuckle, and had a sort of coveed "vent" to the back of the palm, meaning they "breathe" well, but still have a decent level of protection. Anyone I've showed them to also agrees they are fab, including Alpinstars wearers, and they've not started unstitching despite a reasonable mileage, and have been totally soaked a couple of times without any major issues either.

Only concern is they are pretty "summery" gloves, ie can be a bit chilly in winter. Worth looking out for - mine were about £70 as they were being discounted, but were worth every penny. They also fit really nicely ad the arm/wrist velcro band has a decent range of fit, and there is a further velcro drawstring/belt arrangement at the wrist/hand area ensuring a comfy fit.

I'd never heard of "Racer",no idea if reviews of the kit was good or bad, I bought them on my own merits and love them.

I've had a pair of A* octane supermoto leather summer gloves for over 4 years now, absolutely brilliant, I wear them off roading in the summer months too, I've had a few offs in them too (mainly on dirt) and you wouldn't know it.

I'd defo have another pair when these eventually wear out.

I'm a fan of Berik gloves. Mine have stood up to several years of abuse.

I bought these http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/85018 or at least the equiv nearly 3 years ago and they have only just split, a slight one at the index fix tip. They even had to deal with a 50mph hands to ground to slow me down event !

Brilliant gloves, very comfy.

Cheers
