Anyone got a rough estimate of the cost of getting fork seals done at a local garage? Mine are shot on the gsxr, id usually give it a go myself but my paddock stand doesnt fit this bike. Havent really got the cash to buy a new one now though i could try and borrow some money/put it on the credit card for an abba stand i guess as i have a bolt snapped off where the rear bobbin would go so a bobbin paddock stand is no good unless i pay to get it welded out first. The bike also has no mot, so getting it to a garage without a mot booked isnt really possible...this is a right pain in the ****! any ideas?

Try one of these for a start, at the price they are they're worth their weight in gold. Saved me a fortune by not having to change seals. Assuming the seals aren't pi55ing out of course.

Well they arent ****ing out but i would say there is a noticeable amount of fluid on the leg. But for £8 that looks worth a punt...

So have you gone from a leak to a total seal easily enough using that? or do they just lessen the leak?

From weeping to nothing. As you see from the bumph, it's usually crud that stops a seal working correctly and this removes the crud.

Obviously if they've blown they won't work.

Cheeers tommo, ill try the seal mate, then if that fails i may take you up on that offer...

The seals have only done a few hundred miles as they were fairly new when i bought the bike, but its been sat and it seems to have let grit in and scored it slightly...fingers crossed the sealmate fixes it
