View Full Version : Fuel pipe and coolant header tank pipe, where do they go?

Hi,

Just two questions if anyone can help me.

I was wondering where the pipe on the fuel tank goes to? (I think its the vacuum pipe) i've already connected the fuel pipe.

Also where the long pipe which comes off the coolant header tank, which joins into a "T" piece. It seems one end is a overflow maybe? But the smaller pipe connects to something, does anyone know where this connects to?

These two things are stopping me from starting up my SV, help would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks in advance.
Kieran :D

One I know is the header tank pipe goes onto the top of the rad cap , the other I don't know.

That is the pipe at the bottom of the coolant header tank, I meen the one at the top of the coolant header tank, near the header tank bung.

Thanks

Check my SV rebuildage thread, there's a bunch of pics in there that may be useful. The overflow pipe from the expansion tank runs from the top of the exp tank, along the inside of the front of the frame, around the side of the carbs and down to the T piece. The other two pipes from the T are the small breather hose up to the rear of the fuel tank and a longer one down the frame next to the engine casing as an overflow.

Aside from that rear breather connection to the T the fuel tank has two other hoses; the spigot on the small side of the block is the fuel line that runs to the spigot on the other side of the carbs and the line from the spigot on the square downwards-facing surface of the block is the vacuum hose that opens the fuel line, that should connect to a vacuum point either on a carb or manifold, I can't remember which!

My crystal ball is at the menders right now, so it would really help to know exactly what bike you have.

'Til we know that for certain all advice is well meaning but ultimately of limited value.

The second fuel tank pipe fits onto the carb inlet nipple thing on the rear carb from memory.

This old thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=60255) might help with the coolant pipe? again HTH

That diagram was excellent, fixed, now my bike has started up and sounds beautiful with my blue flame exhaust.

Thanks for all the help.
