Well we've left it to late to sort anything out without getting ripped off, so we are going to have to think again...

in the next couple of weeks want to get away for 7 days, 2 adults 2 kids...just run out of ideas really?

So what suggestions does the mighty org have?

If you are happy to stay in UK how about the New Forest?

Try the Newforestcottages website based in Lymington to see if they have any last minute availability.

Beaches at Bournemouth and Boscombe nearby. Plus lots of activities in the Forest. Poole bike meet on a Tuesday night is fun too.

We've got the same problem, so we asked the kids what they wanted to do

Legoland, Harry Potter studio tour, days out here and there, London day trip etc etc

the harry potter studio tour is really good from what I remember, did that a few months ago or so.

Cheap cruise around the med, kids can go off and meet others on board, you can relax in the pool and days ashore sight seeing. Costs are all in, kids have prepaid drinks cards.

Inside cabin to keep costs down, you are only sleeping in there. Should be some last minute bargins around.

Well we've looked at all of the last minute deals abroad and villas etc. but they are going up in price, not down....that has surprised us.

So we have started looking in the UK, as that way we can take the dog, which saves money and a bit of hassle...problem is it always rains when we go away in this country and we dont want to curse the island!

Well in the end we have managed to book a cottage in Devon on a farm...which both the 8 & 12 year olds approve of (much to our surprise)...it was supposed to be £560, but we offered £350 and the deal was done. So Fred the Sharpei gets a holiday too!

There are loads of deals in the uk to be had.

So at least it is now guaranteed that the grass in the UK will get rain next week!
