Which exhaust would you say is the best overall in terms of sound?

If the exhaust you picked is expensive, would you say the few extra pounds spent is worth it?

M4 we have this on our Minitwin for Oliver's Mount and IoM Manx. Sound really nice crisp and loud. Or you could get a Dan Moto one that I've put on the SV.

Do you know how i can purchase the m4 from the us and avoid the massive import tax?

Go to the USA and bring it back in your suitcase ;)

If you're only going for a slip on (and from the prices i'm guessing you are) then just pick the one you like the look of and/or can afford. The sound will be broadly the same whichever one you choose assuming they have removable baffles.

Full system will show a bigger range of sound variations.

Could you be kind enough to upload a video on youtube of your exhaust?

Just buy a cheap Delkevic and be done with it. No, the extra price for "premium exhausts" really isn't worth it. Those that say it is are fooling themselves because they want to justify the extra expense.

Don't get me wrong... the arrow SYSTEM I had on my SV650x was far better than the ART can I had. But £400+ worth it? Hell no. You'd do better buying a second hand, well used aftermarket race can for an SV650, one where the internal baffling has taken a bit of a beating. That will give you the best 'bang for your buck'.

My M4 came out a little less than that with the dyno work thrown in. It makes a lovely noise but is f------ loud.

Occasionally pops on the overrun too!

Thanks,

Mark

That really depends on what you're hoping to achieve with the new exhaust. I just like to have pretty things sometimes...

Objectively you may have a point but there's more to life than that.

I agree that full systems seem a waste of money to me. Much better things to spend £900 on

Well i bought my DanMoto exhaust brand new for £110. Cheap and cheerful was too loud at first but then you get used to it. Ive got a baffle in mine for everyday use and take it out when i want to wake up the neighbours haha

I LOVE the sound of the Austin Full race system - sounds like a SuperBike. But is that sound really achievable on a Super Twin SV650? Or is it partly dependant on having 3 or 4 cylinders too?
The question I'm really asking is: What are the cheapest & easiest options for getting that sound out of a humble SV650S Curvy?

Purely for sound, Hindle. Without doubt. They produce a rasp on the SV that I've not heard any other system make.

There's a couple of You Tube clips of bikes with Hindle exhausts which sound fantastic, & the prices seems very good on eBay. Thanks for the advice Berlin

I liked the original Suzuki Exhaust for the gentle rumble it produced, however it looked gopping and let's face it, the SV likes to sing.

Following an accident I was given a Beowulf Warrior can and my Mechanic took the baffle out for an experiment. Because I have a hearing defect I found the unbaffled noise to be painful, so put the baffle back in. She is much louder than standard, but she growls now instead of purrs.

Not convinced I like it yet, I find it a bit much late at night when the neighbours are twitching the curtains! :smt041

I've got a Carbon Can fitted, & although I like the deep rumble of the V-Twin, I still want the "Power Scream" of a Super Bike. There also doesn't appear to be a way to remove the baffles (without a hacksaw).
I've watched MANY YouTube clips lately & some sound great, but I'm sure they don't give a full account of what the different exhausts sound like "in real life".

Mine came with a stubby Scorpion Titanium/Stainless one that cost the previous owner £350:shock:!!!! It does sound great with or without the baffle and pops and bangs on the overrun with the baffle out. This gets a bit wearing after a while so I tend to keep it in;)
