fork seal help please

anyone know how i can split the tubes????

bottom bolts just turning.

my first attempt at diy and really trully hacked off.

forks off no probs and quite pleaaed, then hitting the wall.

You need to restrain the damper rod, which is what the bolt screws into.
Get a wooden broom handle and cut a coarse taper on one end, remove the fork top bolt, spacers, seats and spring, lightly tap pole into top of damper rod and hold with grips or cross drill pole and insert suitable rod perhaps, unscrew bolt.

just really p1553d off as failed as hate being beat.

that said i am a novice and up until this was quite proud to have the front end off

he wasnt surprised and had made a tool for such problems

just the arrrrgggghhhh factor.

oh by the way its a yamaha virago 750 (back problems) lol
