No relationship is one sided mate, not even in nature.

I'd hardly call it nature. Its because of man made situations.
In this clip shot yesterday by members of the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness (http://assumptionla.wordpress.com/) in Louisiana, an entire stand of trees is suddenly swallowed by an underwater sinkhole above a collapsing salt (http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2013/08/cayou-corne-sinkhole/#) mine. The sinkhole is part of an ongoing environmental disaster in Bayou Corne (http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/08/bayou-corne-sinkhole-disaster-louisiana-texas-brine), and efforts are underway to prevent it from spreading, however it has already forced the evacuation of an entire town (http://www.inquisitr.com/916423/bayou-corne-sinkhole-louisiana-video/). (via Stellar (http://stellar.io/))
This sort of stuff, may I add, is also being investigated by various groups with regards to the consequences of 'fracking'.

That was just a minor collapse along the side of a 'kin big hole formed by a salt dome collapse. As more of the salt is dissolved by surface water the hole will grow some more and there will be more slips like that around the edge.

very boring video but plumbing the depths of sinkholes is scary. Don't bother listening for a depth mentioned though, 750 feet is listed on google though.

Might be worth a dive when it's all settled down a bit...
