Feck! The mirror reveals he's not in leathers either, he's bear skin exposed on his arms. Ouchles

The only one of these vids I've seen where the guy stays on the bike is the GSXR deer one, and unsurprisingly to me, he is on the throttle during the collision. It makes me think that might be the best way to deal with hitting an animal, as the bike is always more stable under throttle. Hmmmm.

ouch! deer, bear, fox, badger, rabbits, cats they don't have these hazards in the hazard perception tests...

I tell you what, I had a blackbird hit me in the thigh once when ragging it down a country lane, that hurt and gave me a dead leg, I can't imagine hitting something like a deer or a bear.
Powering through is an option as like you say the bike is more stable but can you hold it up when it starts to wobble as any wobble would just get worse and worse under acceleration.

I dunno! I had a massive tail wobble last week. I went to overtake a car in bad weather, rear tyre aquaplaned and put me into a big old tail wobble. I kept the power on (didn't add any more) and it sorted itself out. Not sure what the correct way is to get through a tail wobble though!

Aqua planning (No grip) and high speed wobble (tend to maintain a level of grip) are different though, you could quite easily of high sided once your tyre found grip after planning, you could argue you were lucky.

I aquaplaned on standing water, which put the rear tyre to one side, and then once back on bog standard soggy road, began the "level of grip" part of the wobble of doom with 4 or 5 wiggles. All happened so fast, I don't really know if I did anything clever. I was definitely lucky though!
I was even more lucky about 2 minutes later when I got to a corner on a really narrow road which was cunningly made almost exclusively of big feck-off drain cover. I couldn't negotiate it due to a car coming the other way, and almost low sided. Again, saved by lady luck.
Two narrow escape medals please! :)

More likely to highside if you snap the throttle shut.
Haha! I think with a rear-wheel wobble (and someone with know-how please correct me here as I'm going on logic and gut instinct) the best thing to do is keep the throttle steady until the rear wheel regains grip. That way the engine is still aiding the balance of the machine and the rear wheel-speed is similar coming out of the water as it was going in so there's no major change in velocity to unbalance the bike and high-side ye off. Obviously without the friction of the road surface the rear wheel will speed up but with my experience of wet man-hole covers (why always on bends, why?!?) the bike generally sorts itself out once you regain traction as long as there's no big change to the input variables acting on the bike at the time.
Fortunately I've not had anything hit me yet apart from a few insects pinging off the visor, a particularly fuzzy fly impacting on my left temple when I had my visor open two days ago, and one narrow miss with a pidgeon which flew out of a country hedge at me on my way to my mod1 yesterday (which I passed!) but it swerved away at the last minute, the git.

I had a bird go down through my arms and hit my leg whilst riding before, bloody hurt! And worryingly close to the Crown Jewels :(
