So, my brother has been getting into making homebrew cider (or hard cider since he is in the US) and maple syrup. He is actually getting pretty good too. Since I have been a bad brother and not really gotten him anything for his birthday/christmas for the last few years I thought I'd buy him a set of bottles for the cider (568ml glass) and maple syrup (stoneware possibly of varying size). Even better if I could get them with an embossed/engraved/painted logo. I have the logo I would want.

The advice I am after is where to get them from, since the order is not really big enough for the wholesalers. I'm probably after 3-4 dozen cider bottles and maybe 1-2 dozen maple syrup bottles.

Go to a pub and ask for some, they have to pay to get rid of bottles or try www.thehomebrewforum.com

Yeah I was planning on getting some over there and delivered directly to him. Thing is I have no idea what to google. I keep getting antique collectables or wholesale with a minimum order of 1000, which is a little too many for the amount he is making at the moment.

see if you can get him a bottle tree or two at the same time. the biggest PITA is washing the bottles and bottle trees are the doggyzz doooodazzz.

1 brew kit = 30-40 500ml bottles don't be tempted by the bigger ones no matter what the reviews say as the 500ml work out to 1 pint. once you pop the top of any homebrew bottle the sediment starts to mingle with the contents due to the CD so if you can only get a pint at a time in a glass then the other pint sitting in the bottle is going to be full of sediment by the time you finish your glass full.

barrels are different as they are a closed container.

Thanks Bib. have e-mailed a few places, seeing if they can help. He already has a mish-mash set of from beers he as already drunk, I am hoping to get him something with etched labels so they stay during washing taking that hassle away, but looking really professional. Hopefully one of the home brew shops in New York will be able to help.
